Intrauterine Devices

intrauterine device (IUD) is small object made of plastic, copper, or stainless steel that is inserted into the cavity of the uterus. IUDs in some females include pelvic inflammatory disease infertility, excessive menstrual bleeding, and pain. Females in monogamous (single-partner) relationship have a lower risk of developing PID and recent research discounts IUDs as a cause of PID.
