Parthenogenesis

  • Some of organisms show a modified form of sexual reproduction in which female gamete develops in to a new individual without being fertilized by a male gamete. This process is known as parthenogenesis and occurs naturally in animals. The embryos developing from unfertilized haploid egg are naturally haploid and this is known as haploid or generative parthenogenesis.
